Hello people!
We at Materflow Oy are arranging a 3D-printing design contest for everyone. Would you like to have a design of your own making in your home or perhaps in the office? Might it be an elegant vase, a vintage light, unique art or something else? We offer you a chance to make this a reality!
All the winning entries get exhibited in Finland's largest housing fair for a month. After that they will be shipped to their rightful owners!

Check the contest details here: www.materflow.com/en/designcon…

3D-printing!

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 5, 2014, 11:49 PM
Been a bit busy lately. Last year me and 2 friends founded a company and started to build the foundations for a web based 3d-printing service. Early this year we managed to get funding to the project now we are developing our services which will enable people to order plastic parts directly from our site. The technology we use is called selective laser sintering, basically it means that plastic parts are built from layers of nylon powder by melting the desired shape with a laser.
I made a little video demonstrating the process here: LINK

It has been very hectic and after some troubles we finally got our systems up and running and we have been producing plastic products for about 3 months now. The project is keeping me very busy and I haven't had much time to post anything here in deviantart, but dont worry, I have some CGI projects going on too ;)
Our company is called Materflow and the web page is Materflow.com, if anyone has any guestions regarding 3D-printing leave me a note or toss an email! :)

Hello!

I Decided not to submit anymore photos to DA. I'l rather post them to Flickr instead. I dont feel like making an own photo account nor messing my current one so if you're interested to see my photos, I've set them up here: www.flickr.com/photos/freelanc…

I left a few photos in the gallery but wont be adding anything more, at least that's how it will be for the moment

Regards

#paintingbattles

Journal Entry: Wed May 18, 2011, 7:55 AM
As you may know (or not) we, the people in #SpaceArt chat: chat.deviantart.com/chat/space… been organizing painting battles for some weeks now.
The battles are held at Sundays 20.00 GMT and YOU should join them!

This journal was made to let you know that we have started a group called #paintingbattles and you can find it here:
:iconpaintingbattles:

Quoting the group-info:
"This is a group for the weekly painting battles held at #spaceart chat.
What is a 'painting battle'?
Mainly this is just a bit of fun, held for two hours each week on sunday at 8pm GMT, it's a chance to develop your artistic skills and essentially paint something outside of your comfort zone which you would not normally paint.
It's open to anyone, no matter what skill level and everyone is welcome; warning; a sense of humour may be required to survive in the chat!"

So that's about it, if you like to paint or just likes to hang out with stupid people I hope to see you around on Sundays or sooner. Take care!

Hello peepz

I haven't been very active here lately due some school projects and couple commissions I've been working on. A lot of things to do so I'l be busy for a while.. Animation projects are still on the way and hopefully they will get easier once terragen gets a up to date with animation tools.

I've spent this day on rendering some skyboxes and made this QTVR video to show some 3D enviroment of my recent terragen cloud shader thingy...  The interactive video available here: smattila.pp.fi/Random/NewProje…

Also my old video testdrives are still available on my youtube channel: www.youtube.com/user/freelanca…

Anyway I'l try to get things done so I can work on some freetime projects again

Over and out

PS. Watch out. Winter is coming, there is some snow here already :|

Hi peepz.

Incase someone is wondering why I haven't submitted anything, well you probably aren't and haven't even noticed but still. I thought I'd let you know I haven't quit I'm just busy with other stuff. Photography and work are consuming my time and since it's actually warm here for a while it's very likely that I wont be submitting any digital stuff for a while. I'm still doing my photoshoots in the wild tho. You can see some random shots in my FTP and I'll try to upload more recent stuff as I manage to open and edit some of the RAW files. Address of the FTP is in below.

Anyways have a nice summer and so on. See you in a while!

I have been getting requests for nebula & some other tutorials and after carefull consideration I decided that I will not do a tutorial on these. Why? Just because I want everyone to learn by their own through experimentation and painful practising and also I dont want to loose the little uniqueness there is in my works. I'm sorry if you dont like this but this is the way it's going to be ;)

Hi peepz

I just felt I had to promote this software a bit.. It's like Zbrush but with some differences. It has the best retopology tool I have came across so far. The new version even allows voxel sculpting which is great cos you can literally paint things out of thin air, tho I reccomend you get a tablet to have better control over brushes.

The program supports CUDA processing so if you have nvidia card it wont go to waste. The guy developing the program is a genius and that really shows. It doesn't take long to learn this program. The interface is incredibly easy to use.

Of course there's a lot more features but I dont wanna list everything here.. Now you are probably thinking the program is expensive. Well that's not true either. It costs a LOT less than the competitors so go and check www.3d-coat.com/ and Try the trial

I also noticed that I have reached somewhat a milestone. It seems over 1000 people have me on their watchlist and my devinations have been viewed almost 450,000 times. I'm very glad to see so many people are interested in my works and I will deffinetly keep posting new works as I manage to finish some!

I have some scenes ready for render and I'l render them next year. I currently dont have access to my main computer. My laptop is too slow and it can't handle the the renders in my lifetime ;)
