Love the negative space, gives a really kind of "realistic" view, no idea why but it's just amazing :D

I like the moon/planet in the background with a gassy/cloudy feel to it. Great work!

Yeah I can tell you that when you pay a few hundred for a software, the chances of you trying to learn it are much higher than with a free version. So far Ive been using terragen2 for 1 years now :P

You really should make something new like this and animate, cause this is goddamn awesome :D

Hmm, is there a separate license for animation? :P
Or just a newer one? :D

Well its sorta just an licence upgrade. Around 100 dollars I think.

so awesome. I am working now on my animation where action will take part in the Universe. How did u make that 'fog' on planet. Mix of falloff maps? Also planet looks like it consists of milions of polys ;]

Thanks. It was rendered in terragen2.. so no need of falloff maps or anything like that. Terragen 2 is able to render whole planets from objects ranging from the size of few millimeters to hundreds of thousands of kilometers..

Thx for the replay. Didn't know that 'terragen2'. Thought it is just a renderer, not the whole engine.

There isnt many videos available that are rendered with terragen2 but here's a few: [link] [link] [link]

I think they show the scale you work with quite nicely.

So f.e you model trees, stones, space stations etc and then import them to the Terragen2 and then render with its engine?

It doesn't work on other side, to import whole scenes to f.e 3ds Max?

thx for the links. I appreciate it.

Yeah pretty much. You can import partial scenes to 3d max but even with those 3d max has trouble with the polycounts, atleast that's what I concluded from my tests.

Yeah. It can do whole sceneries but you can't model objects with it. That you have to do in outside app and import them to render. f.e. trees and stuff

As always, you have that incredible talent to capture the stark and chilling atmosphere of these celestial scenes.

Well done.

Take care,

Wouldn't want to be lost there...looks awfully lonely and cold, like a bigger Pluto or something :diny: it does have that eerie "edge of the Solar System" mood though :O
