Phoenix Nebula by ~freelancah - Sometimes all you need is a little brightness in your life and this piece has enough light for a whole galaxy. Wonderful work with great sweeping bursts of nebula. (
This is a great mixture of realistic and magnificent. I was searching for a new background these days and this now defnitly fits my search and also, in realtion to the phoenix has a special meaning to me. Thank you for sharing.
Such vivid imagination & incredible talent here...
Arthur C Clarke wrote 2001: A Space Odyssey as you might recall. He also wrote a great short story available online-just one page. You can find it at [link]
I quote, "Even the word nebula is misleading: this is a far smaller object than those stupendous clouds of mist--the stuff of unborn stars--that are scattered throughout the length of the Milky Way. On the cosmic scale, indeed, the Phoenix Nebula is a tiny thing--a tenuous shell of gas surrounding a single star. "
This is the kind of work that makes you go 'wow' when you see it. Truly stellar work, I haven't seen such a well brushed nebulae in a good while. Love all those details, the dynamic and firey feel of this. Definitely an eye catcher. And I like its left side, where it's a little more subtle, with some darks and mor depth. But then again it's perhaps good that this piece does not include a planet and asteroids like many others. I could picture both, I suppose. Great work in any case Almost makes me want to pick up space art again
